Back-bending is not only a movement of the spine, but a movement of the heart. In our day-to-day lives, we are often led almost entirely by the mind - by rational thinking, planning, analysing, and doing. The heart - the seat of compassion, courage, vulnerability, and deep inner listening is frequently asked to take a back seat. But not in this class.
Through the physical opening of the front body and the energetic invitation of back-bending, we are invited to soften defenses, cultivate trust, and lead with presence, allowing the heart space to actively participate.
This 90 minute masterclass is suitable for people who have, or are developing, a regular yoga practice and who carry at least a curiosity for teachings that extend beyond Āsana (physical postures). While the practice is physically informed, it is equally rooted in awareness, intention, and the subtler layers of yoga philosophy.
Jivamukti classes are vinyasa-based, weaving breath and movement into a steady, intelligent flow. Variations of Āsana will be offered to support different bodies and experiences, and hands-on assists may be offered with clear consent, providing guidance, clarity, and deeper connection within the poses.
Come prepared to move, to feel, and to listen - not just with the mind, but with the heart.
